Let me be clear up front. I AM NOT PREDICTING THE END and I'm not addressing non-believers. This blog deals with things that will be going on with Christians before Jesus returns. There are end-time warnings many Christians are missing. The last one is already INSIDE THE CHURCH. The biggest danger may not come from the outside world -but from what is happening inside the church and inside our own hearts. The Bible reveals 3 end-time warnings we cannot afford to ignore and that's why I am blowing a trumpet today.
Sign 1: The Great Exhaustion. What is that you ask? Daniel 7:25 says the enemy will wear out the saints of the Most High. Not destroy them. Wear them out. Many Christians today are not losing their faith because of difficult questions or theological debates. They are losing their strength because they are exhausted. Besides normal things like work, bills, phones, child rearing, constant noise, etc. we could add to that: attacks from SATAN: wordly distractions, mental distress, temptation, assaults on faith, stirring fear, deception, etc. So slowly prayer becomes less important. GOD'S voice becomes harder to hear. The enemy doesn't always need you to deny Jesus, sometimes he only needs to keep you busy until your spirit falls asleep.
Sign 2: The gospel of "self." 2 Timothy 3 warns us about the last days, "For men shall be lovers of their own selves. We usedto call it pride. Today it is often ceebrated as, "living my truth" and "protecting my peace." When a culture replaces: THY WILL BE DONE with "Let my feelings be validated," we are seeing exactly what te 2nd chapter of Timothy verse 3 warned about. The greatest danger is not only rejecting GOD. It is putting ourselves in His place.
Sign 3: Scoffers inside the house. 2 Peter 3: 3-4 says, "In the last days scoffers will come walking according to their own desires, saying, "Where is the promise of His coming?" Many people assume these scoffers will only be outside the Church, but look around! Today the attacks against holiness, repentance, judgment, eternity, AND THE RETURN OF JESUS are sometimes coming from inside religious spaces. Jesus warned us because He wanted us to stay awake. Jesus did not give us prophecy so we would live in fear. He gave us prophecy so we would BE READY. Jesus said in Luke 21:36, "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that will come topass and to stand before the Son of Man." We do not know the day or the hour. But we know the season. And this season should wake us up! The question is, ARE YOU READY?
Until He Comes,
-Pat-
